Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Rob Maness, a Pentagon attack survivor, told Newsmax the country stands where it did on Sept. 10, 2001, warning that mass Islamist immigration and untracked ideological threats put Americans at continued risk.

Maness spoke on Newsmax's "The Count" on Saturday alongside Walter Matuza, whose father was killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Both reacted to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who sparked debate after footage showed them appearing to laugh during Friday's 25th anniversary ceremony as relatives read the names of the nearly 3,000 people killed.

"It makes me very angry. It is telling of who he is. It's very disrespectful," Matuza said of Mamdani, calling the moment "a slap in the face" to families. Matuza said he is legally blind, having lost his vision months after his father's death, and heard rather than saw the exchange. Mamdani, he said, appeared to be "enjoying the pain" of grieving relatives around him.
