GatorPAC Chairman Col. Rob Maness (Ret.) Statement on the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

Gulfport, MS – GatorPAC Chairman Col. Rob Maness (Ret.), a 32-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and survivor of the 9/11 Pentagon attack, issued the following statement regarding the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, Founder of Turning Point USA: “It is with profound sorrow and unyielding resolve that I address the assassination of my friend and fellow patriot, Charlie Kirk, who was taken from us on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University. Charlie was the most brilliant American fighter of his generation—a tireless warrior for freedom, family, and faith who inspired millions of young people to embrace the ideas that make America exceptional. His legacy will endure, honored by those he empowered to defeat the ideologies of tyranny with truth and courage. This heinous act, carried out in what appears to be a highly planned and well executed attack, is not just an attack on one man but a warning shot to all conservatives standing against the radical left’s agenda. The inflammatory rhetoric from figures like Rep. Ilhan Omar, who smirked while attacking Charlie’s contributions, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whose policies fuel division, and even Stephen King, who spread vile lies about Charlie advocating violence, has created a toxic environment that owns this tragedy. Leftist political violence, intertwined with Marxism and Islamism, is a scourge on our nation, and it must end. In my recent discussions in the media, I emphasized the grave concern that this assassination could escalate violence and deepen divisions in America. Charlie was labeled ‘divisive’ by some simply for his exercise of free speech defending traditional values, opposing radical policies like those surrounding George Floyd or Juneteenth, and fighting for equal treatment under the law. But make no mistake: his voice united generations in the pursuit of liberty. Yesterday, as we honored the heroes of 9/11, I reflected on Charlie’s memory alongside our ongoing battle against those who seek to undermine our way of life. I’ve spoken with the young people in my own family many times these last two days and they, like so many young Americans Charlie influenced, are unafraid. They see this for what it is: an attempt to stoke fear and halt our movement. But we will not back down. We will speak more boldly, stand in the breach, and continue the fight for America no matter how many they target. To my fellow Americans: Do not hesitate to publicly exercise your rights. We will not forget Charlie Kirk. We will not quit. God bless his family, and God bless the United States of America.”
